Students from Uzbekistan told about the learning environment in Astrakhan
Astrakhan educational institutions have been training specialists of various professions for the economic and social spheres of Uzbekistan for many years. To date about 300 citizens of Uzbekistan are studying in Astrakhan universities and the vast majority of them - in Medical University. That is why the Astrakhan State Medical University was chosen to conduct meeting on the education issues of Uzbek citizens in Astrakhan.
The meeting of the official delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan with its compatriots-students was held in the Astrakhan State Medical University on November 7.
The guests met with the rector of the university, Professor H.M. Galimzyanov, who spoke about the university experience in training foreign students. The main educational strategy of this university is to give students necessary practical skills that is why all necessary equipment was purchased, taking into account the specialization of each faculty. Professor H.M. Galimzyanov noted that foreign students from 47 countries including from Uzbekistan were attracted by a high level of education. The rector suggested considering such a form of cooperation as exchange of students with universities of Uzbekistan in order to improve the educational process and gain new experience. Representatives of the delegation supported the initiatives of Galimzyanova and expressed interest in continuing cooperation with the Astrakhan State Medical University to train qualified personnel for the healthcare sector of Uzbekistan.
During the next two hours, members of the Uzbek delegation discussed issues related to the training process and the prospects for subsequent employment. The meeting also touched upon issues related to ensuring the social adaptation of students studying abroad.
The Uzbek students told about a large number of various sports and cultural events in the University as well as about preserving national traditions (it has become a tradition to spend days of national cuisine, music and dance concerts).
Many of the Uzbek students are members of volunteer and medical teams. Students noted good living conditions in campuses.
Representatives of the Uzbek delegation gave their compatriots-students a number of practical advices on their stay in Astrakhan region and promised to resolve a number of accumulated issues.
