Students from Uzbekistan aspire to get a second diploma in Astrakhan

More than 40 nationals of Uzbekistan recently started studying at Astrakhan State Technical University for the first time under the double degree program. Future farmers have already managed to get acquainted with the work of the Astrakhan Canned Food enterprise.

"Three years ago, our university signed a cooperation agreement with the leading educational institution of Uzbekistan for training personnel for agriculture - Tashkent State Agrarian University," commented Evgenia Yukina, Head of the International Department of ASTU. – Unfortunately, the pandemic has made adjustments to the implementation of our agreements: last academic year, students from Uzbekistan studied remotely. In the new academic year, over 60 citizens of Uzbekistan have agreed to take two years of study at ASTU. 40 young people have already started studying offline, the rest are applying for passports and will sit at their desks in the coming days."

As part of the “Aquatic bioresources and aquaculture" curriculum, Tashkent students were introduced to the work of the Astrakhan Canned fish and vegetable processing enterprise, located in Kamyzyak.

The company's specialists demonstrated the workflow and talked about the technological chain of canned food production – from processing fish and vegetables to sticking labels on the jar.

"These young men and ladies from Uzbekistan are very inquisitive and curious, they asked in detail about the technical requirements for the preparation of products, modern equipment, working and living conditions of our workers," Vladimir Terziyan, director of the Astrakhan Canned Food enterprise, shared his impressions. – We invited them to the production practice."
