The results of the Astrakhan region delegation visit to India

The visit of Astrakhan delegation headed by Vice-Governor - Chairman of the Government of Astrakhan region K.A. Markelov to the Republic of India has finished.
The most important events of the visit were the following: personal negotiations of Markelov with the Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani as well as participation in the general meeting during the official dinner with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
The meetings were held during the 8th Global Summit "Vibrant Gujarat - 2017". The summit is the largest in Asia business platform for communication and search for business partners, meetings and negotiations of top managers of international corporations, investors, and leading bankers. The summit is rightly considered one of the most important economic events in India.
This year, the summit was attended by the President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta, President of Rwanda Paul Kagame, Prime Minister of Portugal Antonio Costa, Prime Minister of Serbia Alexander Vučić, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Marc Eyraud as well as delegations from Australia, UK, Vietnam, Germany, Denmark, Israel, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Russian Federation, Singapore, United States, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Sweden, Japan, and other dignitaries. The Russian delegation was headed by the Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.
Global Trade Show exhibition was opened during the summit. The stand of Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation presented potential of Tatarstan, Astrakhan region, as well as more than 10 Russian companies.
Specially organized presentation of Astrakhan region as well as special economic zone "Lotus" during the summit was of great practical importance and aroused great interest among the Indian business. For example, an Indian manufacturer of LED lamps and equipment expressed its interest in the working conditions in SEZ "Lotus" and was ready to consider it as the site for the location of production in Russia.
In addition, the Astrakhan region delegation visited the Petroleum University named by Pandit Dindayala and its campus, and met with the university administration. Director General of the University Dr. Tadsina Kishen Kumar expressed great interest in cooperation with Russian universities. The Parties agreed to establish cooperation with the Astrakhan State Technical University and sign agreement of cooperation.
