Overseas investors proceed their activities on projects in special economic zone "Lotus"

Despite the pandemic, projects of foreign partners continue to be implemented in Astrakhan special economic zone "Lotus". 

Italian company "Naval Design International" has completed survey and is preparing project documentation for the construction of the plant. This is going to be the first localized in Russia production of ship panels for indoor decoration of sea, river vessel and offshore fleet interiors.

Another Italian resident - JSC "Technologies - 21 century", which received the status of a resident at the beginning of this year, is planning to start project work shortly. The company is going to build a plant for the production of tool brushes and abrasive materials in Astrakhan SEZ for the amount of more than 800 million rubles. The project's investor is Ferragu Abrasivi, a leading manufacturer of tool brushes in Italy.

The planned production will be equipped with ten specialized machines, a production line and laser equipment for manufacturing 18 commodity items. The foreseeable production capacity of the facility is expected to be 3.1 million tool brushes and abrasive materials annually. These products are widely used in shipbuilding, pipe production and pipeline construction.

The plant's products will be exported to Italy that demonstrates a stable demand for them.
