Kurmangazy regional cultural center celebrates 15th anniversary
October marks the 15th anniversary of a unique cultural complex that has become an object of attraction for thousands of tourists and pilgrims from different cities of Russia and countries around the world: France, Germany, Turkey and even far away Australia. The center was opened in the village of Altynzhar in Volodarsky district in 2005.
The center organized more than 5,000 events. Various genres of concert programs were presented as part of social and cultural projects. More than 20 times creative teams and artists of the institution went on tour.
Among the projects of the center is "Aul of nomads", where visitors can get acquainted with the peculiarities of Kazakh folklore and applied art of folk craftsmen, as well as taste national cuisine. Employees of the Center are working hard to preserve Kazakh customs and rituals, the musical heritage of the great composer Kurmangazy, and teach young musicians to play the dombra. The Center's Museum contains unique exhibits that tell about the life of Astrakhan Kazakhs.
For several years, the center hosts the festival "Zhailau toy" ("holiday of transition to summer pastures"), which is very popular with tourists. The all-Russian competition "magic dombra strings" is gaining momentum, in which young performers on this national instrument take part.
This year, in honor of the anniversary, solo performances of artists and creative teams were held, and photo projects "VisitKurmangazy" and "Kurmangazy center.15 years. History in detail", master classes, including in the "online" format, "pilot" ethnotour "In the footsteps of nomads" was launched.
We congratulate the center on its anniversary and wish further prosperity!
