Foreign students allowed enter Russia

The Russian government passed a decree allowing foreign students from countries with low prevalence of COVID-19 to enter Russia.

Epidemiologically safe countries will be determined by a special algorithm developed by the Ministry of Education and Science and approved by the Operational Headquarters. The list of such countries is available on the website of Rospotrebnadzor.

Currently, students from Abkhazia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Vietnam, Greece, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Maldives, the United Arab Emirates, the Seychelles, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Tanzania, Turkey, Finland, Japan, and Ethiopia can enter Russia.

For full-time classes in Russia, students will need to:

Notify their university of their desire to return ten days prior to their planned arrival date;

take a PCR test for coronavirus three days before arrival in Russia;

undergo retesting in Russia and be on self-isolation until the results of the test.
