Foreign librarians took part in the Astrakhan competition

More than 450 people from the regions of Russia and foreign countries took part in the contest "Tyzhbibliothecary!" organized by Shakhovsky Astrakhan Library for Youth.

"The Main Youth Library constantly takes an active part not only in interregional, but also in international projects," commented Vladimir Golovkov, head of  Foreign Affairs Agency of Astrakhan Region. "Diversified format of cooperation allows our librarians to improve their professional level and, most importantly, to make masterpieces of Russian literature accessible to people from different countries."

The purpose of the contest "Tyzhbibliothekar!" is to prove that modern book keepers are not only professionals in their field, but also multifaceted personalities who are not strangers to various hobbies.

During September - October, the contest participants posted photos and collages in a specially created group on social networks, as well as talked about their hobbies. There were a lot of them: sports and needlework, drawing, singing, performing arts, dancing and much more.

Along with the Russian participants, the jury, which included photographers, book bloggers, owners of publishing houses, evaluated the competitive works of librarians from Belarus, Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

Given the success of the contest, the organizers promised to make it an annual event, but at the same time change the topic every year in order to fully reveal all aspects of the librarians' work.

Recall that in the outgoing year 2021, the VII Caspian Assembly of Young Library Professionals was held under the auspices of the Astrakhan Library for Youth named after B. Shakhovsky. The library also held the Day of Culture of Azerbaijan, organized an international online meeting of poets, participated in various conferences, competitions, seminars with the participation of colleagues from different countries.
