Astrakhan region is ready to share experience in cooperation with India
The visit of the official delegation of the Astrakhan region to the Gujarat state is going on.
The Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin – head of the Russian delegation at the economic forum "Vibrant Gujarat - 2017" held a meeting with the Chief Minister of the Gujarat state Vijay Rupani on Tuesday. During the meeting attended by the Vice Governor Konstantin Markelov various issues including transport corridors, agriculture and job prospects in the special economic zone "Lotus" in the Astrakhan region were discussed.
The Parties noted the established economic relations between Astrakhan region and Gujarat and expressed hope for the expansion of regional cooperation with Russia.
Konstantin Markelov said that Astrakhan region is ready to share experience. "The meeting discussed a lot of important for our region issues. Nowadays we have a good experience in cultural cooperation, but it is necessary to set other goals, move on to the implementation of global economic projects", - he noted.
Most of the day the Astrakhan delegation communicated with potential investors and entrepreneurs and presented potential of the region for partners from India and exhibition visitors from other countries.
Konstantin Markelov also managed to have a personal talk with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "We have known each other for a long time, so I had the opportunity to convey him personal greeting from the Astrakhan Region Governor Alexander Zhilkin. We discussed his plans to come to Russia this year, dedicating the visit to the 70th anniversary of the Russian-Indian diplomatic relations. I invited Mr. Modi to visit Astrakhan, and he said he would give appropriate instructions on the visit preparation"- said Markelov.
