Graduates of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation complete their degree
On July 14, the graduation ceremony of master's students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation of Astrakhan state University was held. This year, like most events, it was held online.
The school graduates are 16 masters who speak, in addition to English, such languages as Spanish, German, Turkish, Chinese and Azerbaijani.
The ceremony was attended by ASU rector Konstantin Markelov, school founder Olga Egorova, Deputy Director of the Department of linguistic support of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexey Fedorov, Deputy head of Foreign Affairs Agency of Astrakhan region Ilya Toropitsyn, as well as representatives of the European Commission Patricia Mortelmans (Belgium) and the world intellectual property organization Geoffrey Edward Westgate (Switzerland). The event was also attended by representatives of consular offices of foreign countries represented in Astrakhan.
The Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation has been training high-class translators and interpreters since 2011. The school has a modern technical base for high-quality teaching of foreign languages and simultaneous translation that meets the highest international standards.
During two busy years of study, students not only attend the main classes, but also take part in master classes from Russian and foreign partners of the school, seminars and other international events and get the opportunity to pass an internship in the Russian foreign Ministry, the UN, WIPO and in leading EU institutions.
The high level of language training allows ASU graduates to work in international organizations, as well as in multinational corporations, joint ventures in the Caspian region, and in Central Asia.
Foreign Affairs Agency of Astrakhan region has been in contact with the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation since its Foundation. Agency employees take part in the state certification of graduates of the faculty of foreign languages of ASU, in the defense of bachelor's and master's final papers. This interaction provides a real opportunity to assess the level of training of specialists with knowledge of foreign languages, which are in high demand in the field of international relations.
