Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Alexei Volin addressed the participants of the media forum with a greeting speech at the plenary session. "This media forum is already the result of strengthening economic, cultural and educational, and tourism ties between the countries of the Caspian region. And these spheres need strong information support". "We hope that the information and business cooperation will be complementary. We have already discussed a variety of projects. For example, one of the promising trends for the coming year is a all-sides participation in the preparations for the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Astrakhan region, this is a serious anniversary for the entire Caspian Sea", - said Alexei Volin.
Governor Alexander Zhilkin noted that in the Caspian region relations are really very comfortable and warm in almost all spheres to date. "General information environment is designed to demonstrate that we remember and continue those neighborly traditions of the Caspian region, established by our ancestors," - he said. Head of the region noted that the first Caspian Media Forum, organized last year, was a success. "It is safe to say that during this time, thanks to the expansion of information exchange, competent work of the entire journalistic community of the Caspian region, cooperation of our businesses increased in a few tens of percent" - said the governor.
Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Andrey Bystritskii noted that as modern life is impossible without communication, it is important that the Caspian states can organize not only the navigation on the Caspian Sea, but in general "communication sea."
The representatives of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan thanked for organizing the forum and hospitality. They noted the important role of information cooperation in the strengthening of friendship between nations and peoples.
II Caspian Media Forum was held in Astrakhan on September 22-23. It was attended by delegations from Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, which discussed the prospects of development of common information space of the Caspian region. Media platforms, round tables worked in the framework of the Forum; the participants presented their projects and have signed a number of agreements. Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Alexei Volin, Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media Andrei Bystritskii, teachers and trainers of the National Research Institute “Higher School of Economics”, journalists, members of Russia Today participated as the experts.
The First Caspian Media Forum was held in Astrakhan on September 16-20, 2015. The Forum Idea was born in 2014 at the Summit of the Caspian five. According to the results of the Forum 16 agreements on cooperation between the editorial offices of the media of the Caspian Sea States were signed, new media resources were established. The Forum was attended by over 200 guests from all over the Caspian region, more than two dozen international media.
